The Personal Protection Programme (P3) offers members access to essential Emergency Service, which has been outlined below.
Personal Protection Programme - your first choice in immediate HIV Exposure & Trauma Assistance.
Get a step-by-step emergency medical guidance, emotional support and daily case management in the immediate event of possible HIV exposure and/or a traumatic incident.
Traumatic incident includes:
• HIV exposure
• Rape
• Witness to suicide
• Robbery
• Natural disasters
• Immediate bereavement
• Physical assault
• Attempted murder
• Mugging / theft
• Vehicle accidents
Additional specialist support includes:
• Accompanied identity parade
• Accompanied court room appearance
This service can be the difference between life and death, victim and survivor, hope and despair.
As a member of the P3 Personal Protection Programme, you will receive guaranteed, rapid response trauma guidance and assistance with immediate access to Anti-Retroviral Treatment within 72 hours. All our members receive on-demand professional advice on the action steps required within 72 hours, in order to reduce the risk of infection.
Access to the P3 medical practitioner network is granted instantly, directing members to the right specialist care and possible financial support available.

BAIL PROTECT
Provides You With Assistance in Posting Bail Following the Arrest of A Minor Crime.
Relief-members have peace of mind knowing that we are available 24/7 to post bail on their behalf.
Recoveries - members do not have to worry about having funds available or being able to access them as we will post bail of up to R3000 on their behalf.
Representation by our expert team will provide you with full administrative support.
You will be covered in typical cases such as:
Road traffic offences such as neglecting to pay speeding fines.
Failure to appear in court to defend such traffic offences.
Driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Common assault.
Shoplifting or theft where the amount is less than R2500.
Fraud, where the value involved, does not exceed R2500.
Illicit possession of marijuana where the amount does not exceed 115 grams.
Drinking in public.

FUNERAL ASSISTANCE
Option A
Should a family member passes away, contact the Support Centre. The Support Centre will ensure that the nearest funeral services branch contacts you within a few minutes. When the funeral services conduct a funeral for you, you are assured of quality service and products. An additional discount of up to 10% is granted on the coffin and service fees if the complete funeral service is done through our Funeral Assistance.
Option B
Members receive the following benefits:
R 500 discount when spending between R 4500 – R 7499 on coffin and services.
R 1000 discount when spending more than R 7500 on the coffin and services.
Option C
Members receive the following benefits at a 10% discount:
Grave costs/ cremation costs
Doctor’s fees for completion of cremation documents
Minister’s, churchwarden’s and organist’s fees
Transport costs outside a radius of 30km from an AVBOB office
Additional funeral leaflets over 100.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
The following benefits are on an access only basis. These services include:
• Emergency telephonic advice and information – 24/7
• Referrals to medical practitioners and facilities
• Liaison with next of kin to keep them informed
In addition to the general medical advice service, medical operators will guide a person through a medical crisis situation involving the member. The member will receive emergency advice or have the necessary support organised, by utilising the 24-hour Contact Centre.

• Rape and HIV Counselling
• Family and Domestic Abuse
• Child Abuse
• Bereavement Counselling
For the member's medical aid or own account
• Emergency medical response to the scene of an incident

EMERGENCY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
These Services Are Available 24/7/365
Road Patrols
The objective is to get the member mobile on the roadside. These services are covered nationally. Areas of coverage include Lesotho and Swaziland. These services are limited to R500.
Services Include:
Change of a flat tyre
Fuel assistance (the first 10 litres are covered. Anything over 10 litres is for the member account.)
Battery fun flat? A jump start and 1-hour labour are covered. The cost of a battery replacement will be for the member account. If a jump start is not possible, towing of the vehicle to the nearest battery fitment centre or relevant repair centre is covered. If the fitment/repair centre is not open, there is an allowance made to tow to the Service Providers yard for safekeeping. The distance to the nearest fitment/repair centre and the clients home address are the same? Towing to either location is allowed. A second towing service the following day is permitted. Replacement of a faulty battery must be within a reasonable period. Assistance for a damaged battery more than once in a week will be for the member account.
Replacement of a battery will be for the member’s account.
Should you lock your keys inside the vehicle, the unlocking costs are covered. The replacement costs for vehicle keys are for the member’s account.
Minor roadside-running repairs related to breakdowns are covered. The service covers a mobile solution for coils, immobilizers, fuses and limited assistance on fan belts.

HOME ASSISTANCE
Available 24-Hours a Day 365-Days of the Year
Our Home Assistance Programme offers assistance to you, the member when you are involved in a Home Emergency. A home emergency means any sudden, unexpected and/or unforeseen event at the registered residence requiring the immediate and/ or urgent services of a domestic tradesman to limit/ minimise or prevent further damage to the home.
This benefit is restricted to home emergencies and only applies to the registered premises or primary place of permanent residence, within the Republic of South Africa and used for domestic purposes, including outbuildings.
Emergency Services Notification and Call-out
At the member request, our Assist Contact Support Centre will relay an emergency notification to the authorities. These may include police, traffic, fire brigade, ambulance, security or any other emergency service provider.
Mobile Notification Services
The member will receive an SMS notifying them of the update on your active case.
The following details will be sent to the member via mobile phone after lodging a case:
Name of Primary Case Manager.
Reference Number (eases of calling in and enable anyone of the Assist Consultants to intervene or provide further details to the member).
Once a Service Provider is appointed, the member receives their details and the ETA.
Any changes made to the case (new Service Provider and additional requests etc.)
New Case Manager details provided to member at shift change.

TUTOR ASSISTANCE
An After-Hours Homework Helpline
This service provides an after-hours homework helpline where qualified tutors assist learners with their homework or project queries. It provides access to telephonic internet. The option to forward any information supplied through the internet to the learner via courier service or fax is available. Tutor line provides parents with peace of mind that either due to circumstance or unavailability, professional assistance and guidance will be accessible to their children at agreed hours 5 days a week. All services are available for primary and secondary school students.
